A professional brand is one’s promise to one’s target market and establishes a lasting impression in the mind of one’s potential clients, customers, colleagues, centers of influence spheres of influence. It differentiates a professional from others and positions the professional among his/her/their constituents.
The session will include an analysis of current state, confirmed by checking in with a trusted advisor on career development, certification, academic background, and job title.

Speaker Information
Laurel Egan Kenny is president of Turningpoint Communications, a financial services-focused marketing and training firm promoting clients’ best practices and thought leadership. Laurel founded Turningpoint after building and leading marketing and sales teams for State Street Corporation and Santander’s treasury and wealth management organizations. Laurel trains teams of bankers on the role of treasury in organizations, as well as how to sell themselves, sell solutions to client challenges and to quantify value propositions - so they can differentiate and deepen client relationships. She also works with banks to successfully transition and retain high valued clients and their assets through Treasury Management portal conversions and bank acquisitions - and coaches Treasury management teams and team members to maximize their potential and performance. An industry champion, Laurel presents nationally on treasury management, marketing and business development best practices. Laurel earned MBA, MSCM, BA degrees from Simmons University, Boston, MA; and two certifications from Cornell University, New York. As part of high performing leadership teams, Laurel is a 23 time award-winning AFP regional officer as a past and present membership, marketing, programming, sponsorship leader for regional AFP organizations nationwide.
Alex Harris is Senior Vice President, Strategy Consultant, for Wells Fargo, covering the Large Corporate Retail and Energy & Power sectors out of Dallas TX. Alex began his Treasury Management career ten years ago, as a Treasury Management Officer, where he managed a portfolio of commercial banking Healthcare, Higher Education, and Not-for-Profit clients across the greater south region. Alex enjoys and is well suited to deliver forward-thinking solutions and strategies to clients, affording operational efficiencies and redeploying resources to strategic initiatives.
Alex attributes much of his career success to the strong relationships he has cultivated over time. He believes a key component of building his professional brand is the network and centers of influence he surrounds himself with.
Alex earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and MBA from Mississippi State University. He is a proud 5-year member of the Dallas Association for Financial Professionals. Outside of work, Alex enjoys traveling, reading, watching sports, and cycling.
